TOXICOLOGIST

Non-profit organization in Washington, DC is in search of a toxicologist for safety assessments. This toxicologist will be responsible for analyzing published studies and/or unpublished data provided by interested parties relevant to the safety assessment of individual chemicals used in cosmetic formulations, presenting these findings for public comment and review by a panel of experts, and preparing final assessments for publication in the open scientific literature. A key responsibility will be expansion of each safety assessment to address the maximum number of related cosmetic chemicals. The position requires expertise in literature searches, data gap analysis, structure/activity relationships, and report writing. The individual must work independently, but also contribute his/her expertise/experience to the group effort to increase the number of reviews completed and to target the most important chemicals for review.

SENIOR TOXICOLOGIST

Non-profit organization in Washington, DC is in search of a senior toxicologist to develop and to expand organizational capability to develop chemical/botanical safety assessments. This senior toxicologist will be responsible for analyzing published studies and/or unpublished data provided by interested parties relevant to the safety assessment of individual chemicals used in cosmetic formulations, presenting these findings for public comment and review by a panel of experts, and preparing final assessments for publication in the open scientific literature. A key goal of the organization is to expand each safety assessment to address the maximum number of related cosmetic chemicals and this senior position is expected to take the lead in developing approaches to accomplish this, using TTC, read across techniques, etc., as appropriate and to manage acceptance of such approaches by the panel of experts. The position requires expertise in literature searches, data gap analysis, structure/activity relationships, and report writing. The individual must work independently, but also be a leader of the group (toxicology, chemistry, etc.) effort to increase the number of reviews completed and to target the most important chemicals for review.

This chemist will be participate in the retrieval and analysis of published studies and analysis of unpublished data provided by interested parties relevant to the safety assessment of individual chemicals used in cosmetic formulations, present these findings for public comment and review by a panel of experts, and prepare final assessments for publication in the open scientific literature. A key responsibility will be the application of structure/activity analysis to support the expansion of each safety assessment to address the maximum number of related cosmetic chemicals. The position requires expertise in literature searches, data gap analysis, structure/activity relationships, and report writing. The individual must work independently, but also contribute his/her expertise/experience to the group effort to increase the number of reviews completed and to target the most important chemicals for review.
